Back to newsSeitan Limani, one of the most striking natural beaches near Chania in northwestern Crete, continues to face unresolved safety concerns regarding access. The site, known for its dramatic turquoise cove and steep approach path, requires safety improvements that have yet to be carried out. Authorities have not moved forward with the necessary interventions despite ongoing issues. Visitors planning to reach Seitan Limani should be aware that the access route remains challenging and potentially hazardous, particularly in summer heat. The beach is located near Akrotiri peninsula, roughly 20 kilometers from Chania city center. Until improvements are completed, tourists are advised to wear sturdy footwear, avoid visiting during peak afternoon heat, and exercise caution on the descent. The beach has no lifeguard service, so swimming should be approached carefully.
