Back to newsThe Municipality of Platanias is hosting its 2nd Traditional Music and Dance Gathering on Wednesday, July 8, starting at 9:00 PM. The event takes place in the courtyard of the Church of Agia Triada in Gavalomoúri, a small village in the Voukolies area of western Crete. Now in its second year, the gathering brings together traditional folk associations performing Cretan music and dance. This is a free, open-air cultural event that gives visitors a genuine look at local Cretan traditions, folk costumes, and live lyra music in an authentic village setting. Gavalomoúri is located inland from the northern coast, roughly 25 kilometers southeast of Chania. No ticket information was specified, suggesting free entry. Visitors are advised to arrive early as seating in village courtyards tends to fill quickly for popular summer events.
