Back to newsPlanned power outages are scheduled for Sunday, June 21 in several areas of Heraklion and the Municipality of Hersonissos, according to an official announcement. These are routine maintenance interruptions organized by the local electricity provider.
Tourists staying in affected neighborhoods should expect temporary disruptions to air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and other electrical services. If your accommodation is in the Heraklion city area or the Hersonissos resort zone, check with your hotel or host for the specific hours and whether your property is affected.
It is advisable to charge devices in advance, keep cash on hand as card terminals may be offline, and plan any essential errands before the outage window begins. Restaurants and shops in affected areas may also operate on reduced capacity. The disruptions are temporary and power is expected to be restored the same day.
