Leer la historia
Just a few meters before reaching the small village of Orne at the province of Agios Vasilios in South Rethymno prefecture we meet the imposing waterfalls of Selinara . It is actually a river of alternating waterfalls, not just one, on the south slopes of the mount Kedros .
The falls of Selinara have water in winter months and till the late spring and is easily discernible from the road that reaches Orne . The area hosts more waterfalls as there are many springs around in high altitudes and the rivers formed meet the fault of Kedros .
Reaching the waterfalls of Selinara is exhaustive as it requires ascending the steep slopes of Kedros . If we however try that, we’ll reach the 20m high waterfall in a rocky area with amazing views to the valley of Orne.
