Limanaki beach (Europa)

Next to the main port of Agios Nikolaos you’ll find the tiny pebble beach Limanaki on Akti Themistokleous street, next to the sculpture of Nikos Koundouros depicting the Rape of Europe . The beach has fine pebble is very nice for a quick bath in the town.

From this place you have great views to the small island Agii Pantes opposite the town and the cliffs of Kavoussi . The sculpture of Europa was designed by Nikos Koundouros and created by the brothers Pantelis and Nikos Sotiriadis and is made of glass, bronze and steel.

A respective sculpture of Nikos and Pantelis Sotiriadis depicting the Rape of Europa has been placed in the gate of the European Parliament in Strasbourg .
