Leer la historia
The village Apostoli in the province Amari hosts several churches, the most important of which is dedicated to Saint Nicholas ( Agios Nikolaos ). The temple is located at the cemetery of the village and is small signle-nave church, dating back from the 14th century.
The walls bear frescoes that have suffered severe damage. It is noteworthy to mention that villages in the mountainous Amari province host a large number of churches dedicated to Saint Nicholas , despite that in Greece he is honored as the patron saint of sailors and fishermen and churches are mostly met by the sea.
