Leer la historia
The Byzantine church of Saint John the Theologian in Archanes called Manganitis after the public stone press ( magana ) that existed here for wine production. The Venetians called it DE SAN ZUANNE THEOLOGO DETTO STO MANGALO .
It is a small vaulted temple and its floor is lower than the exterior level. It bears a small bell fry.
The temple of Saint Marina (Agia Marina) at Fourni hill has been built according to the standards of this church. In the square outside the church, where today we see a beautiful park, there was the cave Neraidospilios (cave of the fairies) accompanied by relevant legends, while the nearby watermill Ano Milos operated here, where the locals used to grind their grain with the water of Keratos river .
The temple celebrates on May 8 and September 26.
