Leer la historia
Within walking distance from the archaeological site of Vrondas , at position Xerambela , there is the old monastery of Saint Paraskevi ( Agia Paraskevi ) above the spring Vrissi . One can still discern the ruins of the monk cells and a very old olive tree next to the temple.
The exterior of the chapel hosts an arcosolium , a Venetian grave, indicating that the temple was built during the Venetian rule. Around the monastery, there is the easternmost colony of cypress trees in Crete.
