Sohores Oak Wood at Fotinos

Almost all villages of central Rethymnon prefecture host an oak grove around. The oak trees are inherent in the landscape of central Rethymno and consist a very important green lung in the heart of the island.

One of these forests is met at position Sochores near village Fotinos. It occupies quite a large area with also plane and cypress trees.

Sochores region starts from the road approaching Fotinos from the south and eaches the foot of the sacred peak Vilotopi .
