Niatos Plateau

The plateau of Niatos is located 3km west of Askifou Plateau , 51km south of Chania , at an altitude of 1200m. Niatos can be accessed via a road starting from the settlement Ammoudari at Askifou , crossing the plateau Tavri and then ending up in Niatos .

The beauty of the area is indescribable, as the views to the towering peak Kastri (2215m) of the White Mountains cause awe. The plateau is crossed by the European E4 trail that connects the heart of the White Mountains with Askifou and the hiking trail that leads to the Sfakiano Gorge and the deserted Kali Laki settlement.
