Dragonada is the largest island of the Dionysades islands at the eastern end of Crete. The island is generally rocky with steep cliffs where Eleonora's falcons , seagulls, and wild pigeons nest, except for its eastern part, which is smoother and forms small bays, with the most known being the Eleonora's falcons .
From the port of Dragonada , a short path leads us north to the large, sheltered bay of Dragonara with its clear blue waters and beautiful seabed. The beach is generally rocky with large pebbles, and there is shade from some junipers.
In general, it is almost certain that you will be alone here. Next to the beach, traces of buildings from other eras can be seen, while also to the south of the bay, there is the important cave of Dragonara with traces of habitation and speleological decoration.
These beaches are not the only ones on the island, as there are some hidden beaches with beautiful waters accessible only by boat.
