Yenitsar Aga Fountain

The fountain of Yenitsar Aga is located at the starting point of the Avenue Ikarou , below the epigraphy collection and opposite the Archaeological Museum of Heraklion . It was originally embeded outside a beautiful mansion on the corner of the streets Markou Avgeri and Paleologou , which was demolished in 1980.

The relief cock is located inside an arch-shaped structure, surrounded by two large pillars with rosettes. The water was collected in a marble sink with rich relief decoration.
