Die Geschichte lesen

At Papadiokambos archaeologists have identified a Minoan house of fishermen and farmers covering 130 square meters, which has provided them with great information about the diet of the Minoans. It seems that the house collapsed while the housewives were cooking waiting for their men, but they were lucky to escape alive (but hungry).

But the family dog had a bad fortune, as it was found below the collapsed roofs. The seafood menu of 1500 BC contained limpets, marine snails and crabs, while the meat menu consisted of goat, sheep and pork meat.

Some others on that day would eat lentils, as there was a kettle with lentils. Moreover, a large stone mortar for crushing olives was found, stone tools such as grinders and mills for grain, fruit warehouses, residual core of olives that was used as a fuel (Cretans still use it for heating!), seeds of almonds, figs and olives.

In another house 11 jars were found that could store around 2000 liters, mainly olive oil.
