Die Geschichte lesen

Just opposite the port of Agios Nikolaos is the island of Agii Pantes (All Saints) , which takes its name after the homonym chapel. On the feast day of the temple (56 days after Greek Easter) townspeople visit the island by boat to join the feast.

Next to the church of All Saints we see a domed building that dates back to the Venetian Era. The island is scattered with military buildings from the Second World War , when the prefecture of Lasithi (East Crete) was held by the Italians.

There are many round buildings, which were bases for the cannons of the Italians, and in several places, we meet fortifications. On the east side, there's also an observatory.

The island, along with the adjacent islet Mikronisi serve as natural breakwaters that protect Agios Nikolaos . The island hosts some hybrids of the endangered Cretan ibex .

Approximately in the central part of the island there is an amazing tiny sandy beach.
