Isihakis Mansion at Nerokourou

Rafioli and Isihakis Mansion (Metochi Isichaki) are located at the mountainous area of Nerokourou at position Chalometro and are a united complex of the Venetian period, with great architectural importance. The area has been declared a historical monument and place of particular natural beauty.

Today it is a private property. Rafioli is known for the fountain, while Metochi Isichaki is the complex of the houses.

The place hosted the unique Renaissance garden of Crete in good condition, covering three levels. The flower garden is adjacent to the north side of the house, while at a lower lever there was a trough with fish.

Even lower there was the orchard ( broglio ) that was divided into six apartments. The garden was designed to include a private garden ( giardino segreto ) with high walls and pool.
