Holy Apostles monastery at Lassithi Plateau

On the way to Aloida in Lassithi Plateau operated during the Turkish Era a small male monastery dedicated to the Holy Apostles (Agii Apostoli) . When in 1823 Hasan Pasha attacked Lasithi from this side after having burnt Kritsa , his troops passed from here and destroyed the monastery.

The monks who survived moved to the monastery of Panagia Kroustallenia and the monastery was deserted.
