Die Geschichte lesen
The chapel of Agia Paraskevi is accessed via the road leading to Episkopi , Rethymno , from Dramia village, Apokoronas . It is a very small cavernous rock built at the west bank of Mouselas River , that starts from Argiroupoli springs.
It is a weird chapel, with irregular sides, with a unique shape in Crete. There are no frescoes surviving but it was built many centuries ago.
Outside the chapel, you’ll get amazed by the lush vegetation and the lovely river. Dramia gets its name after Ydramia , which was an ancient town that once dominated the area.
The fact that the chapel has been dedicated to Agia Paraskevi is highly linked to the tradition according to which Saint Paraskevi’s churches are built near river and stream banks.
