Wildfire in Eastern Crete Forces Evacuation in Bramiana

A wildfire broke out Monday afternoon in the agricultural and forested area of Bramiana, in the municipality of Ierapetra, in the Lasithi regional unit of eastern Crete. Greek emergency services issued an alert via the 112 system ordering the evacuation of a nearby settlement. Firefighting crews were dispatched to the scene. Ierapetra is a popular coastal destination on the south coast of eastern Crete.
