Tuesday, 28 April 2026/Flashnews/1
A woman was injured after falling on the path leading to the lighthouse in Chania, on the western coast of Crete. Coast guard officers and EKAB emergency medical services were deployed to assist her, and she was subsequently transported to the local hospital for treatment. The lighthouse area, located at the edge of the Venetian harbor, is a popular destination for visitors. The path leading to it can be uneven and slippery, particularly near the water's edge. Tourists planning to walk to the lighthouse are advised to wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes with good grip, stay on marked paths, and exercise caution near the rocks, especially in windy conditions or after rain. Visiting during daylight hours is strongly recommended. No information about the severity of the woman's injuries has been released at this time.
