Back to newsThe Technical University of Crete (Polytechneio) in Chania is set to receive major accessibility upgrades thanks to a 1,000,000 euro grant from the EU-funded "Crete 2021-2027" regional program. The project will improve physical accessibility for people with disabilities across the university campus, known as Polytechneioupoli. Works will include infrastructure modifications designed to meet accessibility standards throughout the campus facilities. While the site is not a primary tourist destination, the campus is located in Chania and is occasionally visited by travelers interested in the area. The broader "Crete 2021-2027" program continues to fund infrastructure improvements across the island, reflecting ongoing investment in modernizing public facilities. No disruption to surrounding roads or visitor access to Chania is expected as a result of this project.
