Greece Ensures Aviation Fuel Supplies Until June, No Flight Disruptions

Tuesday, 28 April 2026/CretaOne/1
Greece's Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Giorgos Tzitzikostas, has confirmed that aviation fuel reserves across Greece, including Crete, are sufficient until early June 2026. While the market continues to receive normal fuel supplies, prices remain significantly elevated. The minister also addressed ongoing transport infrastructure upgrade projects across the country. For travelers flying into Heraklion or Chania airports this spring, no disruptions to flight operations are expected in the near term. However, the high fuel costs may continue to influence airfare pricing for the coming weeks. Passengers are advised to book flights early and monitor ticket prices, as the situation will be reassessed closer to June when reserve levels are expected to require review.
