Back to newsThe cruise ship Marella Voyager docked at Souda port, near Chania, on Sunday morning as part of its eastern Mediterranean itinerary. Souda is the main commercial and cruise port serving the Chania region, located approximately 7 kilometers east of the city center. After its call in Chania, the vessel continued eastward toward Heraklion before visiting other Greek islands. Visitors arriving by cruise at Souda can reach Chania's Old Town by taxi or local bus in around 15 minutes. The harbor area itself offers views of the Souda Bay, one of the largest natural bays in the Mediterranean. Cruise traffic at Souda brings a significant number of day visitors to Chania, so travelers already in the city can expect busier conditions in the Old Town and Venetian harbor on days when large ships are in port.
