Back to newsA new five-star resort with 98 beds is moving forward in Hersonissos, on the northern coast of Crete. The Regional Tourism Service of Crete has officially placed the project under Standard Environmental Commitments, a regulatory step required before construction can proceed. This framework sets binding conditions on how the development must manage its environmental impact throughout the building process and beyond.
Hersonissos, located roughly 25 kilometres east of Heraklion, is one of the island's busiest tourist corridors. The addition of a high-end resort signals continued investment in the area's upper accommodation tier. No opening date has been announced. Visitors planning to stay in Hersonissos in the near term will find existing hotels and resorts operating normally, with no disruption expected from this project during the current or upcoming season.
