Second migrant boat arrives at Crete with 59 people aboard

Sunday, 24 May 2026/SourceGoogle News/1 min read
Crete continues to receive migrant boat arrivals along its southern coastline. A second vessel carrying 59 people landed at Kalos Limenes, a small harbor on the island's south coast, adding to an ongoing series of arrivals in recent weeks. Greek Coast Guard and local authorities responded to assist those on board. Kalos Limenes is a quiet area near Matala, popular with tourists for its beaches and historical associations. These arrivals do not affect tourist access to the area, and local beaches and roads remain open as normal. Visitors to the south coast should expect a routine coastguard presence in the area. No safety concerns for tourists have been reported in connection with these events.
