Keritis Bridge

The Bridge on the River Keritis at Alikianos is made of stone with three arches and was built in 1908 and collapsed in February 25, 2019, during one of the most severe storms in Cretan history. Adjacent to it, on 1 August 1941 the Germans executed 118 men (with disabled among them) under the despicable charge of resistance against the German invasion in Crete.

Till date there has been no justice and the Germans have not paid for this obscene war crime at Keritis, like in all holocausts of Crete.
