5-Star Hotel Approved in Kissamos Signals Tourism Growth

Sunday, 5 July 2026/SourceTornos News/1 min read
A new 5-star hotel with 99 beds is being developed in Kissamos, a coastal town on the western tip of Crete. The Kissamos Municipal Committee has approved the entry and exit permit for the project, marking a significant step forward in its development. Kissamos is known for its relaxed atmosphere, Venetian harbor, and proximity to the scenic Gramvousa peninsula and Balos lagoon, one of the most visited beaches on the island. The addition of a luxury property in this area signals growing tourism investment in western Crete, which has traditionally seen fewer large hotel developments compared to the north coast. Travelers planning trips to the region can expect expanded accommodation options in the coming years. For now, Kissamos remains a quieter alternative to busier resort towns, with good ferry connections to the Peloponnese and Kythira.
