Authorities want the program activated without delay to address growing concerns among local fishing communities and coastal areas across the island. Tourists should be aware that this fish may appear near beaches and fishing spots. Never touch or attempt to eat a lagocephalos if encountered. If you see one caught or washed ashore, alert local authorities or the nearest port authority immediately and keep children and pets away.
