Back to newsA 30-year-old French tourist was seriously injured after falling from rocks at Falasarna, a popular beach on the western coast of Crete near Kissamos. The Kissamos Fire Service conducted the rescue operation, and the man was transported unconscious by EKAB, the Greek national emergency medical service.
Falasarna is known for its dramatic rocky coastline alongside its sandy beaches. Visitors are reminded to exercise caution when exploring the rock formations in the area, particularly near cliff edges and uneven terrain where footing can be unstable.
If you witness an accident in Crete, call 112 for general emergencies or 166 to reach EKAB directly. The nearest hospital to Falasarna is in Kissamos, with the main regional hospital located in Chania, approximately 60 kilometers east.
