The Greek electricity distribution operator DEDDIE has scheduled planned power outages in the Chania regional unit starting Monday, June 15, 2026, to carry out necessary maintenance work on the electricity network. On Monday, June 15, the village of Agia Roumeli will be without electricity from 09:00 to 15:00. Agia Roumeli is the coastal settlement at the southern exit of the Samaria Gorge, accessible only by ferry or on foot. If you are hiking the Samaria Gorge and plan to stop in Agia Roumeli that day, be aware that facilities such as restaurants, cafes, and charging points may have limited or no power during those hours. Carry cash, a charged phone, and any essentials you may need before arriving in the village.
