The Souda Bay Allied War Cemetery is open to visitors year-round and is located near Chania, approximately 6 kilometers from the city center. It is one of the most visited historical sites on the island, containing over 1,500 graves of Commonwealth soldiers. Visitors traveling to Chania can easily include the cemetery in their itinerary. The Battle of Crete is commemorated annually each May, with official ceremonies and local events across the Chania region marking the occasion.
