Planned Power Outages Hit Crete as DEDDIE Conducts Network Maintenance

Thursday, 11 June 2026/SourceGoogle News/1 min read
The Greek electricity distribution network operator (DEDDIE) has scheduled planned power outages across several areas of Crete on Friday, June 12. These interruptions are part of routine maintenance and network upgrade work carried out by the national grid operator. Affected areas have not been specified in detail, but outages of this type typically last a few hours and impact residential neighborhoods, commercial areas, and occasionally tourist accommodations. Visitors staying in affected zones may experience temporary loss of air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and other electrically powered amenities. If you are staying in Crete today, check with your hotel or accommodation host to find out whether your area is affected and for how long. Carrying a portable charger and downloading offline maps beforehand is advisable. Normal power supply is expected to resume by end of day.
