Greek Civil Protection Minister Michalis Plevris has issued a strong warning following a reported increase in migration arrivals along the Cretan coastline. Speaking publicly, he stated that authorities are prepared to implement "very tough measures" if the situation requires it. The Greek government has indicated it is monitoring the flows closely and is ready to respond with stricter border enforcement. For tourists visiting Crete, no travel disruptions are currently reported as a result of this situation. Coastal areas remain open and accessible. Visitors should be aware that increased coast guard and border patrol activity may be visible in certain areas, particularly along the southern and eastern shores of the island. Normal tourism activities are unaffected.
