Back to newsA minor traffic accident occurred on Wednesday afternoon on the old national road in the Chania region of western Crete. A bus sideswiped and crushed the door of a farm vehicle that was stopped along the route. The driver of the farm vehicle had not yet exited the cab at the time of the collision and was unharmed. No injuries were reported.
The old national road connecting Chania with surrounding areas carries both local agricultural traffic and tourist vehicles, particularly those traveling between Chania city and western coastal destinations. Drivers renting cars or traveling by road in the Chania area should be aware that farm vehicles frequently use this route and may stop or move slowly without warning. Exercise caution, maintain a safe following distance, and allow extra travel time when using older secondary roads in Crete, especially during afternoon hours when local traffic is heavier.
