Back to newsThe 11th Amari Green Festival takes place from July 23 to 26, 2026, across 25 villages and settlements in the Amari Valley region of central Crete. Now in its eleventh year, the festival transforms the entire valley into a living showcase of Cretan culture, traditions, and local life. Visitors can expect music, food, crafts, and storytelling rooted in the island's heritage, spread across multiple village venues throughout the four-day event. The Amari Valley sits inland from Rethymno, roughly 40 kilometers south, and is accessible by car via the main road through Spili. The area is known for its Byzantine churches, olive groves, and unspoiled mountain scenery. Attending the festival offers a rare opportunity to experience authentic Cretan village culture beyond the coastal tourist zones. Entry details and the full program have not yet been announced.
